Since the weather was looking good today, we decided to head down to Brechin for a ride on the Caledonian Railway (http://www.sca-host.com/CR/frames.htm). Rachel�s friend Eilidh came along.
We arrived at Brechin station to find it deserted and that the train doesn�t start running for another couple of weeks (doh!), so we went for a bit of a walk around Brechin with the kids.
After that we decided to head down to Dundee to have a look at the town center. Julie and I were last there in the early �90s and were not impressed with Dundee city center at all. Since then there has been a lot of development in the town center and the shopping is pretty good. We had coffee (and the kids had McFlurries) before we went for a wander around the newly paved over city center � the girls did some shopping and seemed to have fun.
On the way home we decided to stop at Roos’ in Montrose for a burger, but when we arrived there we discovered they were closed for the afternoon, so we headed back to Aberdeen for a fish supper at the Ashvale.
So, whilst we didn�t do what we originally planned, we all had a good day!
